NYSJ: Does any athlete in particular stand out with his or her favorite sandwich?

TP: When I met Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs, I asked him about his favorite sub. He immediately said, 'It's actually something that's not on the menu — Chicken and Cheese.' And I knew he was a real fan because at that time that was also my favorite sub. So I asked him, 'Great. But how do you make it?' He said, 'I order chicken on Italian bread with American cheese.' And I replied, 'Dude! You don't mix up the cheeses?' Because when I order it I say, 'Give me one portion of cheese, but do cheddar, provolone if they have it and Swiss.' And he said, 'I didn't think of that!'

Blakes a free agent.

I think if anyone is gone it's DJ to be honest. West just proved you can win multiple championships without a legit center. Javale McGee is a champion for fuck sake.

So we're going to act like they don't have 4 all stars with two of them being MVP winners? *smh*

We're also going to act like if one team does it, then that's the only way to do it?

But lets say we trade DJ and add Hayward or Paul George...now we're getting a lot closer to that blueprint.

No but it is the trend of the NBA. Size used to rule, now it's shooters. The days of the prototypical center are past. The Spurs have Leonard listed as PF and Gasol and Aldridge listed as centers. Even the Celtics are playing Al Horford as a center (he's been pretty much a PF for as long as I can remeber).

Horford has playing center basically his whole career, Josh Smith and Millsap played PF next him in Atlanta.  People have been saying for years and years that he's more of PF, but he almost never actually there.

And again the Warriors small lineups work because Draymond Green is an exceptional defensive player who more or less provides center type defense while also having a broader skill set, we have nobody like that, Blake certainly isn't that kind of player.  This year that was amplified even more by Durant who has the length of center, Durant was actually top 10 in blocks per game than this year, Green was 12th.  Bulk isn't as important as it used to be, but challenging shots at the basket still is.

The top 5 defensive teams this year all had legit rim protectors:  San Antonio (Aldridge, Gasol, Dedmon all chip in), Golden State (Green/Durant, plus whoever they use at center), Utah (Gobert), Atlanta (Howard), Miami (Whiteside).  Midrange and post up has gone out of style, but dribble penetration and pick and roll is more important than ever; also quality rim protection allows for tighter defense at the three point line.

The also didn't invest a huge chunk of their payroll on a one dimensional center.

Oh for fuck's sake, he's referring to DJ. WHO WE DRAFTED. WELL. IN THE SECOND ROUND. AND DEVELOPED. AND WHO THE GSW WANTED AND MADE A HUGE OFFER ON AND TRIED TO "INVEST" IN (including amnestying a player just to clear the cap space to make that offer on DJ). And yes, Doc contributed to his development.  Before Doc most of this board wanted to get rid of DJ (for anything). Doc convinced DJ he was a defensive player of the year type guy. And DJ thrived under that.

All Doc did was play DJ in fourth quarters. By that logic, Vinny deserves just as much credit for giving DJ more playing time than Dumbleavy did. Doc ruined any hope of DJ ever contributing on offense without being spoonfed, and DJ was already capable of dunking, rebounding and blocking shots before Doc arrived. In the Doc era, DJ still hasn't added any new skills to his game, nor has he matured at all.

"Doc developed DJ" is one of the biggest myths going. He didn't scout DJ, he didn't draft DJ, he didn't elevate him from Kaman's seldom-used backup to a consistent contributor on the team. He told DJ to focus on being a role player because he was too lazy and stubborn to see if DJ was capable of more than that. If Doc had drafted DJ, he'd have been out of the league by now.

Fact is, Doc doesn't even try to develop players, and no amount of spinning can change reality. He won't give any playing time to young players unless either they're related to him or they came mostly pre-developed by the last coaching staff. Short of that, he is unwilling to put in the work.

Doc didn't do that much for his development. If he really did DJ would at least have a baby 5 foot hook shot and a couple of post moves in the paint. Vinny The Black didn't play him late in ball games cause he couldn't hit free throws. Doc plays him in the 4th and he still doesn't make free throws. DJ is a better player than a few years ago but imo that's just his natural progression as a player from being in the league for 8 years or so.. not so much from Doc so-called coaching him up.

-As for the main topic just hate how people are using the Warriors as the standard for something when they're basically an anomaly from Durant piggybacking a 73 win team for a easy ring/championship. They are beyond simply a superteam. They are one of the most stacked teams in the history of the game.

Does anyone know how he's doing with his foot injury?  I read that the type of injury he suffered can be a career ender.

Sorry, thought this was important.

<BUMP>

What if Blake can't pass a physical and may never be the same or even play again.  I can't find any article stating how his rehab is going.

 I can't find any update.

Only recent news I found is this, which is about where else he would consider living.
