Threads aren't in chronological order anymore.

I'm reading through this thread.

It makes it hard to follow the discussion when posts are added in between already-read posts.

For example, I've read V-Ice's post # 11 four times today.  But I had to scroll up to see that there were new posts in # 9, 10.

It's confusing.

This was the format ESPN Robust used (when they reformatted their boards in 2011).  Don't be like ESPN Robust.  (That had a lot of UI issues too).

(They were called ESPN Robust because they kept bragging about how their new board format was robust.  Whereas JGlanton pointed out that the new forum company seemed to be all about analytics in how tracking its users, and zero about usability).

Good catch. I see that if people are replying to an earlier post, the reply is now going right to that post instead of to the bottom. The beauty of the quote button before is you can reply there and keep the thread chronological but now it's being listed right under the original post.

I think it's difficult to keep track of a thread if you read through it once, check back a few hours later and there's 4 new posts, but the replies are scattered throughout the thread, instead of being 4 new posts at the end of the thread.

It works, but only if the the follow-up posts are nested in the thread
