Its only a matter of time 'til the "CP3 to the Cavs" rumors start up

If the Cavs get sweep-ed or lose the series 4-1 to the Warriors, Bron is going to try and get one of his banana boat buddies on the team no doubt about it. Its nothing but an arms race now. I'm sure they could trade Love for Melo.. don't know how the math works to get Chris Paul to Cleveland but don't be surprised if this new threat pops up.

Not so dumb really. Cavs will likely be looking for a big pickup.  We have two of the biggest available in CP3 and BG. I would not be surprised if there is some interest in one of them from the Cavs.

They don't have cap flexibility to grab max players.  Sorry, I think it's silly.  I also think Love is better for them than Blake and Kyrie better for them than CP.  So-Yeah......

If, for example, BG tells us he's leaving one way or the other, but he'd be willing to do a sign and trade to the Cavs, then the Cavs can trade Love for him. I expect that is a possible type of offer we may see.  And yes, I think BG is better than Love, for them or anyone else.

They have no cap space and nothing to offer us in a trade, unless they want to give us LeBron (not happening). If our stars want out, we would be better off starting from scratch than clinging to the treadmill with a fake star like Kyrie or Love. Our picks are lottery protected.

Sign and trade of CP for Kyrie + Shumpert is def possible this off-season.

Kyrie's age is more in line with Blake and DJ, it would make some sense for both sides.

I honestly think they both are interchangeable, Both are beta type players willing to defer to the dominant alpha player. Love is just the better shooter and rebounder while Blake has more upside until his athleticism declines some more.

LOL. When Love has a playoff run in the same stratosphere as Blake in 2015, your comparison might make sense. Blake would have dragged us to the WCF, maybe even the Finals, if CP0 didn't choke against Jason Terry and Pablo Prigioni.

I think Paul is much more likely to jump to San Antonio if he does decide to jump.

But we couldn've gotten much farther in the playoffs had Blake not pussied out in 2013, 2016 and 2017.

As far as I'm concerned, Love is more valuable right now because he is more durable.

Is he?

He played 60 games this year, to Blake's 61 games.  Blake played 2076 minutes, to Love's 1885.

He played 77 games last year to Blake's 35

He played 75 games the year before that to Blake's 67.

He's also had almost complete season enders, like 2012-2013 where he played 18 games.  And he's never played a full 82 games in any season. The closest he came to that was his rookie season, and since then he's had years in the 50s and 60s and some 70s for games played.

I dunno, he doesn't seem that much more durable. And almost the entire time he's held down a lower PER than Blake.

In my opinion, Kevin Love is a slightly worse player than Blake, with less upside.

If the Cavs would have lost last season I really could have seen a Kyrie for CP3 swap. I still could see it happening this summer. LeBron runs the show in Cleveland and while Kyrie is a great scorer and great at attacking the basket CP3 is still an overall better player. These guys have always wanted to play together and nows their chance. I'm fairly certain the Knicks would do Anthony for Love, Wade can opt out of his Chicago contract if he'd like, and CP3 can opt for a sign and trade to the Cavs if he chose. These guys are getting older and may be their last real chance to all play together. I think this for a year or two gives them a better chance at competing with the Warriors. The question is, does LeBron believe the same. He's the one guy that can make this happen. On the Clippers end I love CP3, but Kyrie will be along a lot longer and fits really well with Blake and DeAndre.

From the Cavs' perspective, who would they rather have going against Draymond Green, Love or Griffin? Green has eaten Griffin alive every time they've met.

Has anyone here or anywhere on the plant ever said "Man, I can't wait to watch the game tonight.  KEVIN freakin' LOVE is playing!"

The Cavs are something like 4-12 when Kyrie and Love are in the lineup without LeBron. Neither of them have ever made the playoffs without LeBron. Neither of them are stars. They're bums who only look good playing next to LeBron.

Needless to say, we don't have LeBron on our team. I'll never understand why so many of our fans are so thirsty for the Cavs' leftovers.

Has Love ever played well against the Warriors? If he has, I certainly don't remember it. Blake used to dominate them and own them mentally until they made a coaching change and we didn't.

Yeah, if only Blake had someone to tell him what to do, he could start dominating the Warriors again. Yeah, that's the ticket.

His sideline suit looks better than any injured Warriors sideline suit, that's for sure. He dominates them there.

That might work.

Cavs, after being swept, will need to overhaul their group( something Doc refuses to do) and what better place to start than with Paul.

Now if you could trade DJ for something........

Trapp's trade idea, trade DJ for a PG or Butler kind of guy, team still isn't good enough, but get's younger and has a new different dynamic. Maybe start shedding cap space after that and build something big around Kyrie and Butler/PG

I think the intrigue of Kyrie for CP3 is there. With CP3 runing the show in Cleveland, LeBron wouldn't have to assist so much. CP3 can get LeBron the ball and he could average 40 a night. Kyrie is a score first PG which might work for the Clippers and open things up for Blake and DJ.

I think to fix the team, Blake needs to stop playing like a pussy. He was one of the most dominate players in the game. His jumper is good, but at times it's stagnant and it kills the offense and flow.

He does? He must be a complete idiot who doesn't know anything about basketball then, like Greg Popovich who also loves CP and is trying to get him to sign with the Spurs.
