It's just a prediction from executives.  I'll believe it when someone from the Clippers says "you're gone".

Thanks for posting, though.

Some of you need to get better at thread titles.

Doc certainly doesn't sound like he wants to come back next season, but I'll believe it when I see it. Knowing Ballmer, he'll panic and give Doc another overpaid extension to make sure he stays.

He’s going to Milwaukee.

It would be better if he went to Brooklyn or Houston so he doesn't ruin Antetokounmpo and take his game away from the paint.

Earlier in the season I was thinking about 90% that this would be Doc's last season here................now I would put it at about 60%.

So the "championship window is closing" on the Clippers for Doc,  so the writer suggests that the Knicks are a destination for him?   Do these guys actually read their own bullshit before they hit "send"?

I don't think @Prince2250 meant to mis-lead people.

He's had other accurate thread titles, like "NBA Draft?".

I think if he had added a questionmark in this thread title too, or said "Could Doc be on his way out?", or "Article on Doc being on his way out", then it would have been more clear that this wasn't official news, but conjecture.

Based on his history, he's usually had non mis-leading thread titles.

Other thread titles have been "Where would you like the Clippers to place" and "Spurs interested in Bradley".  Those were all fine thread titles based on what his OP was.

@V-Ice, while he brings good things to the forum, he is probably the one who posts thread titles that are supposed to be about rumors, but end up looking like official news.  smiley

Doc will be relieve of his duties as HC of the Lob City Clippers as early of next week. That’s my guess.

Are non-playoff coaches usually fired on the day after the last game of the season?

I see a few April firings, so yes.

The Kings played their last game on 4/13/2016, and fired Karl on 4/14.

Byron Scott and Lawrence Frank were fired on 4/18/2013, when the last day was 4/17.

I think Clippers will hold off to privately consider trade offers for Doc.

We don't like him here, but he's very popular around the league. In fact, there was just an article posted about how many players flock to him before and after games, who have never even played for him.

I bet we trade him for a pick, just like was done to bring him here.

Lots of stuff here that we simply do not know.  Does Doc want to leave?  Do we want to dump Austin or keep him?  Will Doc help us or hurt us if we want to sign Bradley as a free agent?  Can the prospect of keeping Doc help us keep Jordan at a discounted price?  Does Ballmer like Doc as a coach anymore or does he want somebody else?  West in public supports Doc.  I don't really have enough information to guess but if I had to I would say he is staying here along with Austin.

Someone on another board suggested we dump Doc and hire Fizdale. What do you guys think of that idea?

Fizdale is well respected, has been building his brand on ESPN and has a hot wife.

The players who actually played for him here have not generally had anything good to say about him atter they leave. That matters more than the opinions of other teams' players.

Doc is going to get resigned for an insane amount of money and Austin is going to get a max deal.

Just watch

More predictions, but let's hope this one comes true. If Ballmer did indeed speak to CP3 after he left, then that may embolden Ballmer to fire Doc.

I am quoting you for posterity. April 11, 2018, SamIAm predicts Austin Rivers gets a max deal from the Clippers, and the Clippers sign Doc Rivers to a new contract for an "insane" amount of money.

I'm sure it's more sarcasm. I feel the same way, but from an aspect of expecting the worst. Ballmer was so late to strip Doc from the President of Basketball Operations. Therefore, I also expect Ballmer to do something stupid like resign Doc on the grounds that he had an injured squad most of the year. God I hope we end tongiht with a win over the Lakers and an announcement that we are parting ways with Doc. If we fire Doc, Austin will opt out to chase daddy.

Welp. Doc told Ralph that it looks like he's coming back next year. Now Lawrence Frank is washing Doc's balls. Doc isn't getting fired. And Ballmer is probably going to give him an extension too, because he's just that clueless and tonedeaf. Another year of the injury excuse saving the worst coach in the league's job.... although, Ballmer is so in love with Doc that he'd just find another excuse if we were 100% healthy.

Thank you nuraman. Didn’t have time to edit the title with a question mark as I was sneaking on the message boards at work lol. I do believe the Clippers may decide to bite the bullet and let Doc go or decide to hit the lottery one more time next season.
